Product Labeling

Charlotte County Mosquito and Aquatic Weed Control use a variety of products in its attempt to conduct an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach that focuses on source reduction, biological controls, and product rotation to avoid the development of resistance. Information regarding the products commonly used are provided below. All of the insecticides listed for ground and aerial treatments are approved by United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).

The products are safe for humans and pets when applied in accordance with the label. All applications of material are applied in accordance with the label and the Florida Statutes and Administrative Codes that pertain to applications. All spray equipment is regularly calibrated, and the ultra-low volume (ULV) droplets are measured to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. Adulticides target mosquitoes in their adult or flying stage and are applied after sunset when they are most active and beneficial insects are at rest. Larvicides are applied during the day to areas of standing water and target mosquitoes in their larval and pupal (aquatic) stages.
