CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (April 22, 2026) – Construction will begin on a backup generator for the Centennial Park recreation center on April 27, 2026. Phase I of the project will begin with horizontal boring adjacent to the playground and volleyball courts. The parking area closest to the playground and volleyball will be closed for two weeks during this time. The playground and volleyball courts will remain open, with intermittent closures possible.
Construction areas will be fenced off; patrons are advised to use caution while in the area.
