CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2025) – The Charlotte County Community Development Department has officially launched Forerunner, a new online platform that gives residents quick, easy access to detailed flood information about their properties.
This digital tool is designed to help users better understand their flood risk, navigate compliance requirements, and make more informed decisions when it comes to flood preparedness.
Now available at www.charlottecountyfl.withforerunner.com, the platform allows users to:
- Look up property-specific flood data, including FEMA flood zone designations and base flood elevations
- View and download existing elevation certificates
- Submit new, digitally signed certificates
- Connect directly with floodplain coordinators for questions or document uploads
Whether you're a homeowner, business owner, Realtor, or insurance agent, Forerunner simplifies how you access and manage flood-related information.
To help residents get started, video tutorials and support materials are available on the website.
In addition to serving the public, Forerunner enhances internal efficiency for county staff and supports compliance with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program. It also contributes to improving Charlotte County’s Community Rating System score, potentially lowering flood insurance costs for local property owners.
The launch of this platform is part of Charlotte County’s continued investment in resilience, public safety, and smarter digital services for the community.
