Leadership Charlotte Class of 2026 to Host “Home Is Where the Heart Is” Cornhole Tournament

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (March 16, 2026) — The Leadership Charlotte Class of 2026 will host the “Home Is Where the Heart Is” Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, March 29 at The Twisted Fork in Port Charlotte. The family-friendly event will bring the community together for an evening of friendly competition, music and fun while raising funds to benefit two local nonprofit organizations.

 

Registration begins at 5 p.m., with bags flying at 5:30 p.m. The cost to participate is $25 per person, or $50 per team, and players are encouraged to bring a partner. Cash prizes will be awarded to top teams, and the event will feature music and activities designed to create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Proceeds from the event will benefit Valerie’s House and the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County. Valerie’s House provides grief support programs that help children and families navigate the loss of a loved one, while the Animal Welfare League works to care for and protect animals in need through shelter services, adoptions and community outreach.

 

Leadership Charlotte is a program of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce designed to educate, connect and inspire current and emerging leaders in the community. The Class of 2026 selected these charities as part of its class project and hopes residents will come out to support the cause while enjoying a fun evening with friends and neighbors.
