CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (March 2, 2026) – With less than 100 days until the start of hurricane season, Charlotte County Emergency Management is reminding residents that it is never too early to prepare. To help the community get a head start, Charlotte County will operate a Point of Distribution site on March 3, 2026, at 10175 S. Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, FL 33950 (entrance via Acline Road) to provide residents with hurricane supply kits, including tarps, Meals Ready-to-Eat, and water.
The POD will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or until supplies run out.
To ensure a safe and orderly operation, residents are asked not to arrive early or form a line before the site opens. Early arrivals may create traffic hazards and delay the setup of the distribution area. Staff will begin service promptly at 9 a.m.
Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while inventory lasts.
Residents should follow the route on the attached map, remain in their vehicles, and follow staff directions to help keep traffic moving efficiently.
