CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (March 31, 2026) – Beginning immediately, the current natural kayak launch area at Prairie Creek is closed during construction activities as Charlotte County Parks & Natural Resources begins construction of a permanent kayak launch.
For public safety, patrons must avoid the designated launch area and no use is permitted while construction is underway. The site may include uneven terrain, soft ground, and active work conditions that present potential hazards.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 15, 2026.
