Experience a day in the life of our Charlotte County Fire & EMS crews through our Ride-Along Program. This opportunity is open to those interested in learning more about emergency medical services and fire operations. Whether you're exploring a career or simply curious, we welcome you to join us in serving our community.
How to Apply for a Ride-Along
To participate in the Ride-Along Program, all applicants must be in high school or older and complete a waiver and background check prior to scheduling. Schedule a ride along by emailing us or by calling 941.833.5600.
Once approved, you’ll be matched with a station and crew. You can pick any station you are interested in, one closest to your house or the busiest stations. Ride-alongs are 8 a.m. through 5 p.m., any day of the week, including weekends.
What to Expect During Your Ride Along
During your shift, you’ll observe emergency response calls, station routines, training exercises, and community interactions. Safety is our top priority and participants will be briefed on guidelines, expectations, and proper attire before their scheduled ride. Please note that participants will be observers only and will not be allowed to engage in emergency operations.
