Charlotte County Rabies Alert

Charlotte County Animal Control, in coordination with the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County, has issued a 30-day rabies alert following confirmation that a raccoon in the Washington Loop Rd/Trails End Drive area of Punta Gorda tested positive for rabies.

Charlotte County Economic Development has selected Isaac James, executive director of the Military Heritage Museum, as its August 40 Under 40 honoree. James is recognized for helping to revitalize the Gulf Theater into a destination for live performance, connecting students with veterans to make history come alive, and strengthening the county’s quality of life and economy.
