Commission Sets Public Hearing on Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity

The Charlotte County Commission has scheduled a public hearing on a proposal to issue a certificate of public convenience and necessity at 10 a.m., Sept. 23, 2025, in Room 119 of the Charlotte County Administration Center.
Charlotte County Maintains Class 5 CRS Rating

Charlotte County has once again earned a Class 5 rating from the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System. This means property owners in high-risk flood zones can continue receiving up to 25% off their flood insurance premiums – a savings of approximately $6.6 million per year for Charlotte County residents.

Playground Component Repair at Englewood Beach

Traffic Advisory - Peachland Boulevard from Hinton Street to Atwater Street Lane Closure Sept. 9-23

Charlotte County Installs Reflective Evacuation Zone Bands on Stop Signs

The Charlotte County Office of Emergency Management, in partnership with Charlotte County Public Works, has installed over 12,900 reflective vinyl bands on stop signs and intersections throughout unincorporated areas of Charlotte County. These 3-inch-wide bands, which feature both the color and letter of evacuation zones, are designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to identify their evacuation zone and storm surge risk during a tropical storm or hurricane.
