Charlotte County Fire & EMS Lieutenant Gavagni Supports Hurricane Melissa Recovery Efforts in Jamaica

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, communities in southern Jamaica faced widespread devastation and loss. From Nov. 8–22, 2025, Charlotte County Fire & EMS Lieutenant Jarrod Gavagni joined Project Heal Jamaica as Operations Section Chief, helping deliver essential relief to families in the rural community of Burnt Savannah. Together with local partners, teams distributed thousands of meals and cases of water, stabilized schools and churches, and supported clinics working to reopen after the storm. This humanitarian mission reflects the heart of the fire service, bringing hope, stability, and compassion to those who need it most.
