Midway Boulevard eastbound, right-hand lane between Green Street and Albury Drive will have intermittent lane closures 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23 through Friday, April 24 for Bluestreak to install underground fiber.
Traffic Advisory - Kings Highway Widening Project from Sandhill Boulevard to Desoto County Line April 27

The Kings Highway widening project from Sandhill Boulevard to Desoto County Line is scheduled to start Monday, April 27. This project will provide a continuous four-lane divided highway from the I-75 interchange to the DeSoto County line and continuing to Arcadia as part of the DeSoto County project. Protected left-turn lanes will also be installed at critical locations to improve safety and traffic operations.

(April 17, 2026) – Charlotte County Economic Development, in partnership with local chambers and regional organizations, will host a free Business Hurricane Season Preparedness Webinar at noon on May 6 to help local businesses prepare for, respond to, and recover from severe weather events. The virtual session will be held via Microsoft Teams and is open to businesses across the region.
