The Charlotte County Community Development Department has opened a pop-up permitting site at the Mac V. Horton West County Annex, located at 6868 San Casa Drive, Englewood. This location will assist homeowners and contractors with residential storm-related permits.

Renewal Period for Flood Insurance Policyholders Extended by FEMA

Certain policyholders in seven states impacted by Helene, including Florida, now have a limited opportunity to renew their policies without a consequence of a lapse in coverage. Policyholders in Florida who had flood damage now have until Nov. 26, 2024, to renew their policies, an increase from the standard 30-day renewal grace period.
