DCF Announces Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) in Response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton

Individuals and families impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton who are not receiving food assistance benefits through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP) are eligible to apply for D-SNAP. Online pre-registration for D-SNAP will open Sunday, Nov. 3 through Friday, Nov. 8 at MyFLFamilies.com/DSNAP.
South County, Harold Avenue Recreation Centers Reopen

South County Regional Park Recreation Center located at 670 Cooper St., in Punta Gorda has reopened for normal operating hours. Harold Avenue Regional Park Recreation Center located at 23400 Harold Ave., in Port Charlotte will reopen for normal operating hours on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024.
Cleanup Assistance by Crisis Cleanup Extended to Nov. 8

Crisis Cleanup connects you with volunteers from local relief organizations, community groups and faith communities who may be able to assist with cleanup after a storm such as mucking out, trees, tarp, debris. FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Opens at Tringali Park Community Center

A Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster recovery center will open Thursday, Oct. 31 at Tringali Park Community Center, 3460 N. Access Road in Englewood. The DRC will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m., seven days a week.
