Beginning the week of May 11, 2026, construction will begin at Randy Spence Park. A temporary fire station will begin construction in the open grass area of the park.

The Centennial Park playground located at 1120 Centennial Blvd., in Port Charlotte will be closed beginning Friday, May 8 and will reopen Thursday, May 14 due to impacts from backup generator construction.
