Mission: To administer and enforce the county's land development & building construction regulations, the Florida Building Code, and the preparation and implementation of the county's Comprehensive Plan.

Automated Inspection Request System (AIRS) phone: 941.833.4086. Available 24/7. Must call by 8 p.m. for next day service.

Online inspection scheduling: Contractors only. Available 24/7. Request must be made by 8 p.m. to be eligible for next day service.

Permit counter and phone hours (except holidays): 
  • Monday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Inspector hours: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (in the field only) Monday through Friday (holidays).
