The Natural Resources Division helps to protect, restore, and conserve the environmental resources of Charlotte County, such as the valuable ecosystems, along with plant and animal species. Natural Resources works in conjunction with state agencies to improve access and recreation on the County’s waters through these Special Programs.
Abandoned Vessels
The Abandoned Vessel Program helps to protect Charlotte County's boating environment and it's 350 miles of navigable waterways.
Artificial Reefs
The Artificial Reef Program helps to increase water recreation opportunities for divers and fishers, alike.
Coastal Construction & Shoreline Protection
Proposed development within the coastal building zone, coastal barrier islands, sea turtle lighting zone and seaward of Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL) requires additional consideration and review during the permitting process.
